I still have to figure out what I can and can not do on this blog. I feel slightly restricted, even though it is set for 18 and over.
For me, it is that whole thing how you can be 18 and kill people if you are in a war, but you can't see naked women on a website until you are 18, but hey, you can have a drink at 21.
I'm 42, I've seen a lot in this world.
I feel that certain rules are psychologically imposed on me by the powers that be. It's not only me that it affects, but people who see my art. They wonder if it is ok or not for me to get so close to the lines of decency.
Art has no morals. It is art.
The viewer brings his or her morals to the table, though.
So it is the middle of the night. I've been making videos on my David Lovins 67 youtube channel. I'm getting hits here and there, it is a lot of fun to build a youtube channel from scratch and watch it grow.
I've made 70 cents on this blog so far, haha. That really isn't very good pay for the amount of work I've done now, is it?
I've been doing lots of pencil drawings, pen and ink, and marker comps at the cafe lately. I realized I had to make my art louder and brighter for anyone to notice. I like the pencil drawings, they are more like an intimate whisper. Adding color brings some emotional value.
Most people can really relate to cartoons. It taps them into their childhood, and reminds them of who they used to be.
A lot of web stuff I am seeing is just great. People are able to retool and rethink old movies and media, and add voices, and make modifications. It is really a revolution in communication.
As an artist, more people have been able to see my art more than ever in my life before, so that makes me happy.
I want to start drawing some sexy women again. I am looking forward to it. I still have thousands of drawings laying around that I have never photographed. I did them before I even had a digital camera. I have drawings that I did before the digital camera was even invented.
It is really cool that I have the means to make a drawing, and put it on the web within an hour. That is rad.
I'm drinking a beer right now.
I tried to sleep, but woke up.
Yup, I'm liking the marker comps. I love the bright colors.
I want to get back to drawing some naked people. Now, here's another thing about the web. Let's say I absolutely agree about not putting any nude photographs on the web. Ok, assuming that it is alright to put drawings of naked people up, because it is art. Well, what if you are good enough to make drawings that look like photos? See the dilemma? Anyway, they leave it up to you, I just don't people bitching about what I do.
So the S.F. Giants won the World Series, and that is an amazing thing, but it is business as usual. Now that baseball season is over, I have to find some work. Yikes.
San Francisco is a great city, but it isn't always to live here. Most of the jobs are service oriented, like hotels, or restaurants. I'm not too crazy about working in a restaurant again, that is for damn sure.
So if I can get some sleep, I can get to the coffee shop in the morning and get some drawing done. I have lots of ideas that I am brewing up.
Ideally, I want to make a living as an artist. I have to become a better business man. My brother has been doing some computer coloring and processing on some of my images. We are a good team. It wouldn't be bad for us to get an agent. If we aren't good enough to get an agent yet, then we will work hard until we are ready, whatever it takes.
Anyway, my beer tastes good.

Ok, it is six in the morning
Damn, I'm up early. A lot going on. My brother did a stellar job on my website. Wow. If anything at all, it makes it easier for me to navigate to my own sites.
You know, it sure is a lot easier to wake up in the morning knowing that the Giants are World Series champions. Wait, did that really happen? Wow, it did.
It was a very low-rated series on television. The network people just care about money. Anyway, they can never take the victory away from the Giants.
My friend David Marc Grant got some more press about his art. I'm happy for him. I wish I could get some real press about my art, but I don't think that is ever going to happen. My artwork isn't really up to par. Plus, he went to grad school and learned all the ins and outs of the professional art world, whereas I have been content to be this amateur kind of person. Just how it goes, though, I still owe a chunk of change for my art education.
I'm up early, I might as well get ready to go to the coffee shop, and do some drawing.
I got problems, though. I need a source of income. I did get on the board, though. I have made 70 cents with adsense so far. I was wondering for months what I had to do to earn any amount of money with that thing. It took a while to figure out. I had to make it so I was directing traffic a little.
My original goal with even buying a computer was to set it all up so I could eventually make money with it. That and playing games is what I wanted to do. And oh yeah, make art.
Anyway, now I have a way to get my art and all my activities onto the web so at least people can look at it if they want to. Before, there was not even a way for people to see my art, if they even knew or cared that I was making it at all.
The above picture shows a woman at the S.F. Giants Parade. It is all about the girl. Anyway, it was very crowded at the parade, and I didn't get to see much of the actual parade, but I saw a whole lot of people.
It is getting to be time for coffee and a drawing session.
I've been having trouble making myself make real art and real paintings for the purposes of exhibition. I don't know how I expect to make money at art if I don't make art that I can sell. Anyway, I'll figure it all out sooner or later. Takes time. Lots of things I want to do anyhow.
I've been having trouble with the practicing musicians down near my studio. They practice and practice and never get better. It is hard on my ears, and makes it hard to think. Exhausted, I sometimes just go to bed early having given up to do anything. The moments of peace that I do get are completely awesome, though.

S.F. Giants Parade
Well, the Bart station was jam-packed, and it was difficult to even get on the train. I finally made it to Civic Center at 7th and Market, and that was just filled to the brim with Giants fans. A man was with his bike going through a crowd, what was he thinking? Probably not much. There was a fat woman who said, "If one more person bumps into me...." Well, hard to avoid bumping into her.
I did not get to see much of the parade. I know what a parade looks like, so I wasn't missing anything, and I know what The Giants look like having worked at the ball park for the last two years, and I know what the employees at AT & T park look like, since I see them all the time. So for me, it was about walking the back streets and looking at all the people, and being there amongst all the excitement. People wore there orange and black proudly.
I started at 7th, and walked all the way to The Embarcadero. Then I went to the YMCA and got a hot shower and a nice steam room session. Following, I got my spiced pumpkin latte at my favorite 7-11 convenience store, and then I went to what I call my 'outdoor office' where they have good metal tables to sit at, and you can smoke there, no one cares. There is a nice overhang from the building, so even when it rains, you can have a nice place to sit to read, write, and draw.
My favorite lesbian couple in the city was there again at the outdoor office. One woman is very manly with how she dresses, very butch, and her girlfriend is kind of the J-Lo type and wears big sun glasses. They really love each other. They love to hang out with each other, and I've seen them make-out. I'd love to make a big painting of them. I ought to ask them sometime. At least a big drawing.
Then kind of the post-climactic let-down and depression started coming in, but luckily my brother appeared on the myspace instant messenger so I don't have to feel so alone, thank god. I just need to talk to someone who knows me once in a while. It gets unbearably lonely at times.
I had the fortune to walk by a young beautiful woman smoking a cigarette in a tight mini-skirt and snow boots, and she had those kind of short muscular thighs that really send you away. She bent over and showed me where her cooch was, I could see the little pocket of love, and too bad she was wearing underwear. But she was lovely, my kind of girl.
Wow, and woot! My brother just did an awesome upgrade on my website. I am really happy about what he did. :)

Well, all I can say it has been a long road to put that all together. Wow. He did a marvelous job, and we are just getting started, too.
So, beautiful, young women every where I go in this city, and I am just getting older. Damn. It figures. But I love life more than ever, so maybe some good things will happen.
Oh yeah, I need to find some work, or a job, damn.

giants celebration madness posted video
Well, that was fun. A little scary at the end filming that. But wow, the Giants actually won The World Series. They actually really did it. The Giants have a special relationship with their fans who have stuck with them for many years through thick and thin. This town loves their Giants. As a vendor working at the ballpark the last two years, I see nothing but devotion. The Giants wanted to do it for the fans. They really played like their hearts out this year.
I don't know if the video appears in this blog. I can't see it when I look at the entry.
But it was a good time for about fifteen minutes, and I got a good video out of it.
It is an amazing accomplishment that The S.F. Giants won The World Series. Wow. No one would have bet on that at the start of the year. It wouldn't have been a good bet. Also that all East Coast teams were eliminated. Alex Rodriguez finally helped the Rangers go to the World Series..haha, I love that line from The Onion, they are a great news source.
The ladies in this town would wait in line for hours for a shot at Buster Posey. The women love him. I think he has a girlfriend, but he could really take advantage of his opportunities to sample some of the finest women in San Francisco. The women like Lincecum, too.
Ok, so wow. But for me, now that baseball season is over, I need to find some work, or a job. Eeeek. I'm good at art, but not much else.

Well, there it is. Quiet out there now last time I checked. They opened up Valencia street again.
My god.
More later when I get in the mood.

The Giants won The World Series...They are Champions!
Wow.
They did it, well, I'll be damned.
Wow.
They looked like a third place team, for the first half of the year. But then, they started playing like a real team, and decided to play some ball, and drop all the ego bullshit that ran rampant during The Barrry Bonds years.
They did it.
I was there last year during Buster Posey's first MLB at bat, and I was thinking at the time, "WTF? Why don't they let him play?"
A year later, they won the fucking World Series. Wow.

Today
"Today is gonna be the day..." -Wonderwall by Oasis
Well, so far it isn't any kind of day, except I've talked to friends and family, discussed art work, watched videos, and made plans. My brother made my new website, which is a great thing. It's like a railroad roundhouse, where the trains come in, to be switched onto different tracks, and the cars get attached to different engines.http://www.wix.com/mattand davestudios/davidlovins. So there is that. Eventually it will be loaded with images of my art. For now the blog works just fine for me, but to have this website is really cool. It's taken a while to figure out how things all work on the web. I was a complete noob when I started on the computer, I barely knew how to turn the dang thing on.
I've gone through years of playing video games, and facebook now, and had a lot of false starts, but things seem to be coalescing. I have the beginnings of a network.
But to be honest, I need some coffee, brb.
It's always such a drama at the tobacco shop next door where I get my coffee. The customers are always putting on a show. They think it is a stage.
Anyway, I love their coffee. I don't want to live without coffee. What would be the point?
It was a good night of Magic The Gathering last night, and I had my share of wins, and then we feasted on sandwiches. Good stuff. Cuban sandwiches with smoked ham and pork. Mmmm. Cheese, mustard, pickles, the works. My god was it good.
I sluffed the morning yoga class, I wasn't feeling it, and I was talking to my brother about important stuff, but I can still go to the early evening yoga class if I want.
I was up late last night, so hard to wake up early today. I slept in. Not exactly the best way to start a new day, week, and month.
Just how it goes.
And, I missed my morning drawing session at the cafe today, so I've been bad. Just wasn't feeling it. Happens.
Halloween is over. I did get to see a girl dressed as Catwoman....mmmmm. She even said, "Meow" in a very dry Michelle Pfeiffer manner. I loved that, along with how the leather clung to her body like paint.
Well, now what? I don't know.
The Giants won last night, so I am happy about that. They are up 3 games to 1 now in the World Series, and that is rad. The Giants are due. One win away from World Series Glory, and of course bragging rights, which is what The Giant's fans want. It will be crazy here in S.F. if they win tonight.
http://www.youtube.com/user/DavidLovins67?feature=mhum. My new youtube channel is going good. I started it from scratch eight months ago. My first channel I consider my trial channel. I was exploring youtube and figuring out how it all worked.
http://www.youtube.com/user/kirkindysolospock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UYYLRY3yks This Marianne Faithful video I made has 64,000 hits now. It's the most hits of any video I've made.
I hope someday to join the '100,000 Hits Club' on youtube for a single video. Even then, that is nothing. There are videos with 27 million hits now. Wow.
So, I feel like I've just been dicking around on the computer all day, but people are important.
It can't be about me all the time. In fact, it isn't at all. I am like a little creature tucked far away in his lair, underground, broadcasting to anyone who happens to tune into my frequency for a while. That is what makes all the things we have on the computer great. Anyone can be a broadcaster or journalist, and do whatever they want on the web, and what is nice is that people do eventually respond. It just takes time.
I haven't drawn any pictures yet today, but I will.
I don't know if today will be the day, but there is still time.
